Occipital Nerve Stimulation Selectively Modulates Top-down Inhibitory Control

We chose to pursue a series of two experiments which investigate if attentional control can be modulated using NITESGON. Two pathways of modulation, either via top-down goal directed processes or bottom-up stimulus driven processes, could be selectively modulated via the peripheral nerve through subcortical activity.

Neural signatures of online and offline motor learning: An ALE meta-analysis

Published in Imaging Neuroscience, 2025

Using coordinate-based meta-analysis methods and independent review, 1,777 studies were returned from three databases. 38 studies investigating motor task learning met the inclusion criteria, were allocated as either online or offline learning based on their scanning placement, and revealed both unique and overlapping regional activation/deactivation patterns.

An overview of the effects and mechanisms of transcranial stimulation frequency on motor learning

Switching tinnitus on or off: An initial investigation into the role of the pregenual and rostral to dorsal anterior cingulate cortices

Tinnitus onset is associated with increased theta activity in the pregenual anterior cingulate cortex and decreased theta functional connectivity between the pregenual anterior cingulate cortex and the auditory cortex.

Feasibility of deep learning to predict tinnitus patient outcomes

More Evidence That Ensemble Music Training Influences Children’s Neurobehavioral Correlates of Auditory Executive Attention

OrKidstra children had faster RTs and larger ERP amplitudes to the Go tone. Specifically, compared to their comparison counterparts, they showed more negative-going polarities bilaterally for N1-N2 and LP signatures across the scalp and larger P300s in parietal and right temporal electrodes; some enhancements were lateralized (i.e., left frontal, and right central and parietal electrodes).

We caution that in absence of a sham or placebo-controlling groups or more direct mechanistic approaches, it is difficult to conclude that peripheral mechanisms are not at play based strictly on non-specific arousal.
